a little lagniappe

Here are some fun things I've found on the Web this weekend.

Next month marks the 10-year anniversary of Jeff Buckley's death. Like every other fan, I am obsessed with finding new things -- pictures, quotes, music, videos, etc. -- that provide another view of my favorite singer. Tomorrow, a new book hits shelves called The Spoken Word Revolution Redux. The accompanying CD includes audio of Jeff reading a letter he wrote to Bob Dylan, apologizing for imitating him at a recent show. Like everything Jeff created, it shows his humor, deep sensitivity and humanity. Listen to it on Entertainment Weekly.com.

Listen to the new Nine Inch Nails album in its entirety. Yes, it's that good that you will listen to it and then run out to buy it later this month. Let's hope Trent returns to Orlando soon.

The Shout Out Louds have just signed to Merge (home of Arcade Fire, Lou Barlow, Spoon and Imperial Teen). Although their new album Ill Willsis coming out later this month in their native Sweden, us Americans have to wait until September. You can get a taste of the new release with a video Pitchfork has posted for the song "Tonight I Have to Leave It."
